Berlin’s creative and queer communities are coming together in solidarity with Venezuela through an extraordinary fundraising event that combines tattoo art, live music, and grassroots humanitarian action.
On July 23, Berlin’s renowned concert venue Gretchen will host the Solidarity Tattoo & Music Fundraiser for Venezuela, a one-day charity event organized by Venezuelans living in Berlin alongside artists, volunteers, and community members from across Europe. The fundraiser was born out of an urgent desire to respond to the devastating earthquake that recently struck Venezuela and to provide immediate support to those affected.
What makes the event unique is its community-driven approach. More than 25 tattoo artists, musicians, designers, and volunteers have donated their time and talents free of charge, ensuring that every possible euro raised goes directly to trusted emergency relief initiatives already operating on the ground in Venezuela.
The fundraiser begins at 10 a.m. with a solidarity tattoo event organized by Berlin’s Nowhereland Tattoo Collective & Friends. Tattoo artists from Berlin and across Europe will offer flash tattoos, with 100 percent of the proceeds supporting emergency relief efforts.
At 7 p.m., Gretchen opens its doors for an evening of live performances by Venezuelan and international artists united in solidarity. All ticket sales and donations collected during the concert will go directly toward humanitarian aid.
The concert lineup showcases the diversity of Berlin’s artistic community. Venezuelan-born, Berlin-based artist GOTOPO will perform alongside Sara ATH, Lafert, and Ingrid Hideki featuring MC Josh, double bassist Nathaly Al Gindi, and traditional Venezuelan music group ENSAMBLE RAÍCES.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy authentic Venezuelan food and drinks, browse limited-edition merchandise, and take part in a charity raffle, with all proceeds supporting emergency relief efforts.
Rather than creating a new aid structure, the fundraiser supports trusted individuals and organizations already working on the ground in Venezuela. Donations will provide food, shelter, medical assistance, child protection, LGBTQI+ support, and animal rescue services for communities affected by the earthquake.
Beneficiaries include LGBTQI+ activist Richelle Briceño and Orgullo.ve, child protection organization Hogar Bambi, emergency relief workers Luis Itanare and Freisy González, community kitchen initiative Cocinando por Venezuela, and animal rescue team GRAD Brasil.
Made possible entirely through donated time, resources, and expertise, the event highlights the power of art, community, and international solidarity. Organizers hope to raise critical funds while bringing attention to grassroots humanitarian efforts supporting Venezuela’s recovery.
