This summer, Westfälischer Kunstverein in Münster presents Augur, a new solo exhibition by interdisciplinary artist and writer Steffani Jemison, on view from 27th June to 20th September 2026.

The exhibition brings together sound, sculpture, drawing and video to explore movement, perception and imagination.

About Steffani Jemison
The exhibition Steffani Jemison Augur is inspired by the ancient practice of reading the flight and songs of birds as signs of the future. Through contemporary art, the project examines new ways of understanding language, freedom and human experience.
Moreover, the exhibition combines visual art with sound and performance to create an immersive environment for visitors.

Exploring Movement and Communication
Steffani Jemison investigates how people move through systems of limitation and control. Birdsong, gesture and voice become important artistic elements throughout the exhibition.
In addition, the installation reflects on public space, architecture and different forms of communication. These ideas encourage visitors to think about identity, perception and belonging from a new perspective.

Public Programme
The exhibition includes lectures, workshops, screenings and special performances. Visitors can experience the project through different artistic formats during the exhibition period.

Finally, she presents a thoughtful dialogue between contemporary art, sound and movement while inviting audiences to imagine alternative ways of seeing and listening.
