KEYI Magazine returns to Berlin on 30 July 2026 for a special fundraiser celebration at Phantom Bar Berlin, bringing together legends, friends, and family from across the global electronic music scene in support of independent culture and creative communities.
Among this year’s lineup is Alinka, a DJ, producer, and label co-founder whose sound bridges Chicago house, Detroit techno, and the diverse influences of Europe’s underground dance music landscape.
Born in Kyiv, raised in Chicago, and now based in Berlin, her decades-long journey has been shaped by some of dance music’s most influential cities and communities. From her early days as a resident at Chicago’s Smartbar to releases on renowned labels including Rekids, !K7, and Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records, Alinka has built a singular voice that remains deeply rooted in house music while continuously pushing its boundaries.
Ahead of her Phantom Bar set, Alinka shares the stories behind her sound, her connection to house music, and what keeps her inspired.
You were born in Kyiv, raised in Chicago, and now live in Berlin. Which city lives most in your sound?
Chicago definitely shaped my sound, it’s the birthplace of House and a city with endless talent and inspiring artists.
Berlin taught me how to tell a story with longer sets and push myself out of my comfort zone.
Kyiv let me be myself the most and makes me feel the most appreciated and accepted, and therefore I feel the most free and like myself playing there.
After all these years behind the decks, what still gives you goosebumps?
Music.
It’s what always gave me goosebumps, it’s why I’m still doing this after all these years.
When a song makes you feel so much you get goosebumps and tears in your eyes, there’s really no other feeling like it for me.

What can people expect from your set at Phantom Bar?
I try not to be predictable, but expect fun ☺
Why do intimate venues still matter in today’s club culture?
That’s where the magic happens, it’s a totally different experience for the crowd and for artists.
You can just do so much more creatively and go on a proper journey in intimate spaces.
What’s one thing you hope people leave the dancefloor feeling after this night?
Energy, we all need It.
