MARKO BAKOVIĆ SPRING/SUMMER 2026 – TRACES

Paris, July 2025 — In a season defined by quiet complexity and sculptural detail, Marko Baković presents TRACES, a Spring/Summer 2026 footwear collection that blurs the line between art and function. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship and propelled by future-facing design processes, the collection reflects the philosophical and material investigations that sit at the heart of the Baković Studio.

Elegance With Edge

The collection walks a fine line between femininity and futurism. Kitten-heeled derbies collapse softly at the heel, while mules and pumps dip low to reveal sensual contours of the foot. Sequins and metallic spikes aren’t embellishment — they are the structure, covering entire uppers in layers so dense they resemble fur, armor, or even geological formations.

Deliberate Distortion

In contrast, the second concept is forceful. A new softly rounded toe shape in classic derby form is heat-pressed flat in the studio’s Amsterdam facility, deliberately distorting the silhouette. What remains is not only a visual statement, but a tactile memory of craftsmanship — a trace of human intention made permanent.

Marko Baković continues to expand footwear beyond fashion — into object, artifact, and expression.

Design as Dialogue

Drawing on influences from Eastern European footwear traditions, nautical design, and industrial ergonomics, the Yara and Azra lines expand the vocabulary of modern shoes. Rounded bumpers, exaggerated toe shapes, and sculptural hourglass heels push the limits of silhouette — not for spectacle, but for storytelling.

Footwear, Reimagined

Marko Baković blends artisanal shoemaking with cutting-edge design. His past collaborations include Dion Lee, Peter Do, and KNWLS. Through his solo work, he redefines footwear as more than fashion. Each piece becomes a study in material, movement, and meaning.
