The Exe archive opens its door for the launch of Catholic Guilt’s residency

On Halloween night, .exe archive opened its doors for the launch of Catholic Guilt’s month-long artist residency. An immersive evening of ritual, costume, and sonic devotion. Visitors entered a surreal, gothic underworld where one guest left with a custom Catholic Guilt piece from the night’s costume contest.
Throughout November 2025, Ella Jackson will inhabit the .exe archive studio, developing new sculptural works and offering visitors a glimpse into her process. Her chainmail workshops will take place on 22–23 November, giving participants the opportunity to learn traditional techniques. And create their own miniature relics.
.exe archive is a new concept store, studio, and event space in Berlin exploring the intersections between fashion, sound, and subculture. The project serves as both a platform and a laboratory. Hosting residencies, workshops, and performances that blur the boundaries between retail, exhibition, and nightlife.
Catholic Guilt is the brainchild of Australian multi-disciplinary artist Ella Jackson. Inspired by dreams, art, history, and religion, Ella imagines distant and dying lands, hidden and forgotten spaces, and paths not yet travelled. She invites the viewer to explore these landscapes through the mediums of chainmail, sound, word, and structure. Chaos and decay. Wound and rebirth. Every Catholic Guilt piece is a future artefact or holy relic, waiting to by unearthed by distant civilisations.
Visitors are invited to drop by the studio until the end of November to see her ongoing work, explore the residency space. And discover pieces from her archive.
Photographed by @beyzaagim, the opening night captured Berlin’s underground in fullmetamorphosis – angelic, grotesque, and divine.
