Amsterdam-based community platform OBERHAUM presents its second release with ‘Element EP’ by Uksimo. The four-track record explores rhythm-driven techno with a refined and immersive approach. The EP is set for digital release on April 24, 2026.
Building on the direction introduced in the label’s first release, the EP develops its sound through subtle variations and evolving grooves. Across the record, restrained structures are used to highlight shifts in rhythm and texture.
Opening track ‘Element’ is built around a hypnotic groove, gradually introducing a melodic synth line, while its break briefly expands the space before returning to the core rhythm. ‘Shifted’ follows with sharper drums and a tighter rhythmic framework, building tension in the break before dropping back in with increased weight.
The premiere track ‘Detect’ stands at the center of the EP, driven by a deeper low-end and crisp percussive elements that maintain momentum while keeping the arrangement minimal.
Closing track ‘Factor’ takes a slightly different approach, opening with an extended intro and introducing heavier chords and deeper synth layers in the break before the rhythm returns.

Uksimo’s sound is defined by immersive, layered atmospheres and a strong focus on rhythm. Working with modular synthesizers, he shapes distinctive textures through hands-on experimentation. After nearly a decade performing under a different alias, focusing on hypnotic techno and live sets, this project marks a shift toward deeper and more rhythm-oriented explorations.
OBERHAUM operates as a community platform encompassing radio shows, a record label, and events, aiming to connect artists from diverse backgrounds. Each session is streamed live and later shared online, providing both emerging and established artists with broader exposure.
