Paris-based artist Le Kaiju is set to release Kill the Party, a new eight-track EP on BPitch, on October 8. Written during a period of insomnia, uncertainty and personal upheaval, the EP grew out of late-night recording sessions made in a Paris apartment during the winter of 2023.
Waking at three or four in the morning unable to sleep, Le Kaiju would make coffee, turn on the drum machines and record for hours. Months later, those raw jams became Kill the Party, an EP shaped by gender, sexuality, grief, desire and identity.
At the centre of the EP is its title track, ‘Kill the Party’. Built around relentless percussion, eroded vocal fragments and mounting tension, the track reflects on a culture of nightlife that, in Le Kaiju’s words, had already reached a breaking point: “The party as we knew it was already dead, we were just zombies pretending to be living it through our screens.”

For Le Kaiju, however, killing the party is not simply about rejecting nightlife. The track imagines what might come after the structures and habits that have shaped it are dismantled.
“We need to end the cycle of suffering, break the party up to build a new one based on real connections and collective experience,”

That sense of movement runs through the record. ‘Uhh’ moves from an ominous opening into a super hard drop closer to techno, followed by UK breakbeats and diva vocals, while while ‘Pop It’ combines dubstep energy, breakbeats and ballroom-inspired vocal chops. ‘Disorder’ twists dubstep textures around techno drops, with sexually charged vocal chops throughout.

“It’s trans music. Ever moving, incompatible with pre-established labels.”
The EP also moves into more personal territory. ‘Never Stop’ reflects on the experience of transition, while ‘Take My Soul’ is a conversation with ghosts from the past, shaped by grief, memory and the absence of loved ones.

Closing with ‘Things I Should Have Said’, the EP turns toward the freedom that comes from finally speaking what has been left unsaid. It leaves Kill the Party on a quieter reflection on truth, release and the weight of words that have remained unspoken.
