Marcel Ostertag Brings Paradise to Berlin Fashion Week

German designer Marcel Ostertag released his SS26 Paradise collection, held at the Uber Arena with CollectiveFour during Berlin Fashion Week.

The label stands for excellent quality, personality and sustainability, all of which were evident on this season’s Paradise runway. For 19 years, Marcel Ostertag has been making luxury sustainable and stylish. This collection was proof of that, using sustainable materials to create opulent and stunning designs.

Ornate flower motifs adorned fitted suits covered in floral or graphic prints. 70’s-inspired patterns and silhouettes, silk frills, and paisleys gave context to the collection that was inspired by the past but designed for the present.

The show was an homage to 70’s glamour, merged with the high-energy rave culture of the 90’s. It was a love letter to a great night of dancing, and the promise that as the clock strikes midnight, an empty dance-floor can transform into a pulsing paradise.

Paradise, to Marcel Ostertag, is a mindset and a way of life. A sense of freedom and letting go– choosing to wear that sparkly peacock-print suit or black latex ballgown.

“What was especially important to Marcel Ostertag, was that the pieces can be easily integrated into modern wardrobes – despite the opulent, baroque elements.

The collection is made for every day – for every generation, for every age. Fashion that inspires but does not overwhelm. Striking, but not disguised.”

The collection was a reminder to have fun, to stay out late, and to dress for the occasion. As guests left the arena for the afterparty, there was the sense that they would do just that.

Through CollectiveFour, Danny Reinke, Marcel Ostertag and Kilian Kerner partnered to share a venue, afterparty, and a joint non-profit collection C4DR, Collection for Doctors. The collection was created for doctors to provide “functional support in their day-to-day work, but also convey a feeling of safety, appreciation and well-being.”

Through this charity initiative the designers hope to “redefine the understanding of workwear: fashionable, functional, innovative – and above all, appreciative.”
