Elodie Carstensen’s “Absence of Promised Safety” at Berlin Fashion Week 2025

Berlin Designer Elodie Carstensen will be presenting her experimental designs at the KEYI Magazine x Berlin Fashion Week @ OXI club Event on February 3rd.

Berlin-based fashion designer, Elodie Carstensen, will be sharing the latest in her expanding universe of fashion this year at Berlin fashion week. The designer’s most recent collection, “Absence of Promised Safety”, comprises of ice-dyed, 100% sandwashed silk garments. At first glance, the collection is flowing and colorful. Upon closer inspection, certain pieces begin to stand out as structured, geometric, and powerful garments disguised in elegant silk and stunning pinks and oranges.
The Berlin Showroom presented Carstensen’s work last spring during Paris Fashion Week, alongside other breakout Berlin designers. Others included Haderlump Atelier, Asterisk, and Trippen, to name a few. Her audience continues to grow, reflecting the concurrent progress of her technical skill and artistic concept with each collection.
“Absence of Promised Safety” manages to be a highly conceptual expression of Carstensen’s artistry, while still showcasing wearable, beautiful garments. A poem accompanies the collection, giving her audience a glimpse into the concept behind the collection.

“You feel a drop falling.

It’s sweat.

Your hands hurt and your body is tired,

for how long have you been building your monster?

It has to protect you now,

healing is a full time job.

Your hear a drop falling

and the sound bounces on every wall

and you realise that you grew in your silence

and from the rubbles of promised safety you have risen.”
