Rebekka Ruétz SS26 FEASTonyourlife at Berlin Fashion Week

German designer Rebekka Ruétz stands for extravagance, high quality, sustainability, and personality. The label’s FEASTonyourlife collection shown on the second day of Berlin Fashion Week brought that and more to the runway.

FEASTonyourlife calls for intentional hedonism, directed inwards with the goal of understanding and accepting the self. The show opened to a screen with projections of a poem by Derek Walcott:

“The time will come when, with elation, you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror…”.

Throughout the show, guests could see that designer Rebekka Ruétz had indeed greeted her style, ideas, and designs warmly at the door.

Models wore various coverings over their faces– imprinted masks, clear shields, and paint. Some outfits included thick metal belts or wire caging around the waist or arm. These accessories indicated a desire to stay safely hidden beneath a mask or within a cage, yet natural vulnerabilities still peeked through sheer fabrics, cutouts, and distinct dye patterns.

“It is a call to the soul to meet oneself not as the world expects, but as we truly are, beyond the masks, expectations, and roles.

This collection marks the moment of revelation when the illusion breaks, and we see ourselves again in the raw beauty of who we truly are.”

Rebekka Ruetz Show Notes

Heavier vegan-leather looks represented the armor we wear to protect ourselves. In response, powerful and regal galaxy-print gowns encouraged a removal of that armor to become one with ourselves, one with our world.

The show was one of hope and acceptance, amplifying a message that often gets lost in a week as performative and superficial as fashion week. Rebekka Ruétz challenged guests to look deeply within themselves and welcome what they find underneath the mask.

That, and the stainless steel dildo provided by Satisfyer in the gift bag didn’t hurt either.
