Berlin-based label MADOMORPHO unveils “The Resort”, a new collection that plunges headfirst into the theatrical, the nostalgic, and the unapologetically hedonistic.
Known for fusing fashion with immersive storytelling, the brand continues its exploration of character-driven couture. This season, the stage is set as a glamorous cruise ship fantasy.
“The Resort” brings together an ensemble of eccentric guests, each with their own unique role in the lush, dreamlike voyage.
Madomorpho has quickly emerged as a label reshaping Berlin’s fashion landscape with an ethos rooted in slow, ethical production.
Every garment is crafted in their Berlin studio using deadstock materials, incorporating unexpected textures like jute, ostrich feathers, lace, and shells. This further emphasises the brand’s aim to steer away from fast fashion and create “long-lasting garments as a storytelling art form with captivating concepts”.
A Morning Walk on the Deck pairs an antique lace bonnet with a sage silk jacquard suit—romantic and refined. Meanwhile, Master’s Suite Mistress brings intimate drama. Presented: a beaded swim cap, burnt orange lingerie, a floral silk robe with a long tassel.
Late Night Performance at the Beach Club dives into circus surrealism with a harlequin suit and shell thong. Concierge Couture show sharpened silhouettes—gold viscose, wool balloon trousers, and a towering tassel hat— while Cocktails in the Cockpit turns up the fantasy with a pirate hat and hand-painted silk corset dress. A Madomorpho marching band belt drapes over the look.
Even the accessories are characters. Shell embroidery, marching boots, veiled crew hats, and peculiarly shaped slouchy bags appear. They further contribute to the operatic staging of “The Resort”.
With each look, Madomorpho invites us into a campy, nostalgic, and lovingly handcrafted universe where garments flirt and perform.
The pieces sail between irony and sincerity inviting wearers into a world where garments hold secrets, pay homage to the past, and revel in the theatrical present.
