GOEN is a London-based multidisciplinary platform founded in 2023 by Malaysian creative director and curator Tan Zhao Yi (Charlie). From the beginning, the focus laid on cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary music experiences. GOEN curates events, develops programming, and supports touring opportunities for emerging and established musicians, artists, and performers from the UK, Asia, and beyond. As they grow, GOEN continues to champion experimentation and collaboration. GOEN brings bold ideas to contemporary music culture and pushes the scene in new directions.
GOEN began its journey in Malaysia and then expanded into London, where it now runs as a transnational creative initiative. Today, it presents live music events, multimedia performances, and projects that blend sound with visual and performance art. Although each event draws on different disciplines, GOEN keeps a clear artistic focus. It pushes musical boundaries, encourages experimentation, and fosters meaningful cultural exchange.
The projects span electronic music, audiovisual performance, experimental food art, fashion, installation, and multimedia storytelling. Through these collaborations, GOEN sparks cross-cultural dialogue. Through these events, a constantly growing network of multidisciplinary creatives evolved.
GOENS most recent event, a Halloween Party, pushed far past the expectations of a night out dancing. The place turned into a ritualistic ceremony of collective transformation. The soundscape plunged deep into experimental bass, industrial noise and hardcore intensity, charging the room with a visceral energy.
“In this ritual, everybody becomes part of the altar. Dressing up is no longer disguise — it’s transformation. Each mask, each fragment of fabric or paint, becomes a sigil, a declaration of who we are when the ordinary world falls away. Together, we construct a new mythology on the dancefloor, a congregation of shifting forms and blurred identities.”
