At Milan Fashion Week SS26, Domenico Orefice presented A4 R4. A collection that focused less on spectacle and more on experience. The presentation unfolded like a moment of pause within the busy fashion week calendar, inviting guests to engage closely with the clothes.

Orefice’s creative concept for “A4 R4” draws inspiration from the world of alpinism, a bold metaphor for personal challenge and artistic ascent. In climbing nomenclature, “A” denotes difficulty and “R” risk. This coded language becomes the structural backbone of the collection’s identity. The narrative plays out like a visual climb: from rugged terrains and frayed edges to heights where sartorial refinement meets functional design.

Orefice collaborated with Vans, reimagining the classic Authentic silhouette in celebration of its 60th anniversary. This partnership not only underscores the designer’s affinity for streetwear roots but also highlights his capacity to work across fashion worlds, from artisanal craft to everyday staples with seamless fluency.

The A4 R4 SS26 presentation unfolded as an immersive, walk-through experience rather than a traditional runway show. Guests moved freely through the space while models circulated among them, creating a sense of closeness and immediacy. The setting, inspired by transit and temporary architecture, reinforced the idea of constant movement. Allowing the audience to observe the garments up close and in real time, as they would be worn in everyday life.
