BLITZ, a key underground music venue in Munich, has announced that it will close in 2026, marking the end of nearly a decade of club culture in the city.
The project began with a vision centered on openness, respect, and the shared experience of dancing together. Over the years, BLITZ developed into a community-driven space shaped by artists, staff, and visitors, often described by its team as a “temple of dance.”

The closure is due to circumstances beyond the club’s control. The final weekend will take place from July 31st to August 3rd, 2026, marking the last chapter of the venue’s history.
BLITZ emphasized that its identity was collectively built by everyone who passed through the space, forming a shared cultural and musical community over the years.
In its final months, the club will continue operating, focusing on celebrating its legacy and maintaining its core commitment to music and the dancefloor.
LOVE IS THE MESSAGE – MUSIC IS THE ANSWER.

Since the announcement, BLITZ has hosted a series of memorable farewell events featuring artists such as Collabs 3000 (Chris Liebing & Speedy J), Lawrence, Molly, Skee Mask, Wata Igarashi, Âme, Carl Craig, Mike Banks, Moodymann, DJ Rolando and many more. July’s programme remains equally impressive, bringing together artists from across the electronic and live music spectrum for one final summer on Museumsinsel.

Upcoming highlights before the closure include:
- July 17 (19:30–23:30) – JAZZFEST x BLITZ: Solaire, DIGILOGUE and Sabina Sciubba
- July 17 (23:59–late) – CJ Bolland b2b The Advent, Philippa Pacho and Polygonia
