Berlin based cultural initiative MÄZEN returns on 29 and 30 July with an expanded summer edition at Spreefeld Bootshaus, bringing together contemporary art, electronic music, natural wine, and gastronomy in a two-day programme celebrating interdisciplinary exchange and community.

Since its founding in 2024, MÄZEN has established itself as a hybrid cultural platform within Berlin’s underground scene through its free, donation-based gatherings. Combining contemporary art exhibitions, electronic music programming, and culinary experiences, the project continues to create spaces where cultural dialogue and collective experiences intersect. Following a previous appearance at Säule, Berghain, MÄZEN now returns with an edition that places contemporary art at its centre.
Leading this year’s programme is Colombian multidisciplinary artist Andrea Otoya Covelli, whose works Hypertext and Hyperflesh explore the complex relationships between bodies, desire, and commodification in contemporary digital culture.
Hypertext combines a ten-metre jacquard textile with a hand-operated scrolling mechanism, drawing connections between early weaving technologies and today’s image-driven economies. Reflecting on beauty standards, online visibility, and self-commodification, the work examines how the body has become both a medium and a resource within systems of endless production and consumption.
In Hyperflesh, Andrea presents what she describes as the “pneumatic body”, a hyper-feminized and voluptuous figure shaped by plastic surgery, media representation, and male desire. Through oversized inflatable sculptures covered in synthetic fabrics and luxury-inspired patterns, the work blurs the boundaries between playful object and commodity while questioning how bodies are constructed, displayed, and consumed. The exhibition is co-curated by Placebo Collective.
Alongside the exhibition, MÄZEN’s musical programme unfolds across two days of live performances, DJ sets, and special collaborations from an international lineup of artists.
The programme for 29 July features Function, Grosera, Jess Nash, Prussian Blue, Sanna Mun & Sarah Wreath, Shaven, and Wise Totem. On 30 July, Amanda Mussi, Daraio, Isabel Soto & Leo Cologna, Ly Sas, Mėrj (Kris Baha & Jensen Interceptor), Stanislav Tolkachev, and Supersin will take to the stage.
The event will also showcase natural wines selected by Fyt Wine, Italian culinary offerings curated by Vinosteria, and a bar programme supported by Bacardi and Martini. Media partners for this edition include Keyi Magazine and Tensione Collective.
Committed to accessibility, inclusivity, and cultural exchange, MÄZEN continues to foster dialogue across multicultural, queer, and gender-diverse communities through interdisciplinary programming. The summer edition invites audiences to experience contemporary art, music, and gastronomy within a shared cultural space designed for encounter and discovery.
