Helsinki Fashion Week will return to in-person fashion shows for its 2022 edition, focusing on craftsmanship and slow fashion. The future of sustainable fashion consists of valuing our resources and building new habits towards a circular economy while expressing ourselves more freely than ever.
By freeing ourselves from expectations, by redefining a must-have as something we actually need and by reconnecting with past ways of repairing and reusing, we are creating a frame for a sustainable future.
You are not alone. The emotions of the brave Ukrainian during the war.
On August 5, during Helsinki Fashion Week the Ukrainian brand CHERESHNIVSKA presented a new sustainable collection 2402 dedicated to the recent experiences of their nation.
The images in the show, one by one, convey the state of a European person in whose home war has come. Europeans, because they are modern Ukrainians. The collection is a symbol of the emotional state of an entire nation that is desperately fighting for a normal life.
“First of all, I wanted to support everyone who is currently experiencing it and remind them that they are not alone in this “journey”. At the same time, we want to once again draw attention to the war in Ukraine. After all, art is also a weapon, – noted the designer of the brand Anastasiya Rozava, – The real experience of our team is daily air alarms and the unknown. We are gloomy, but with a fighting spirit, so the collection is flashy and bold.”
“首先，我想支持目前正在经历的每一个人，提醒他们在这个 “旅程 “中并不孤单。同时，我们想再次引起对乌克兰战争的关注。毕竟，艺术也是一种武器，–该品牌的设计师Anastasiya Rozava指出，–我们团队的真实经历是每天的空气警报和未知。我们是阴郁的，但有战斗精神，所以这个系列是浮夸和大胆的”。

7585’s new SS23 collection is called “Middle Voices”. Our new pieces for this collection will be featured at this year’s fashion weeks. We represent a transition from a pure “avant-garde” black aesthetic to that of exploratory designs inspired by flora, fauna and other non-human agents.
We developed our non anthropocentric stance through a series of conversations with various garments which we found and interviewed about their emotions, characteristics and life trajectories. We thought with Whitman, Bergson and Jane Bennett in forming this collection. 7585 is keeping with the avant-garde aesthetic, while incorporating a multitude of influences as we grow.
These influences are important to us in our process and help us take care when it comes to material selection, production and emotions we strive to evoke in our creations. The “Middle Voices’’ project includes poetry, music, video and photography where we explore future visions of our hyper consumption culture. The collection will include 7585 EAST line basic essentials in white, nude, black colors and 7585 WEST deconstructed upcycling one-of-a-kind garments.

Helsinki Fashion Week Designer of the Year Jean Gritsfeldt: “My dreams are 10 years old” A special jubilee fashion show of Jean Gritsfeldt will take place in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, on August 6.
After Jean Gritsfeldt’s sensational show in Berlin, which was one of the first messages of Ukraine in the world since the full-scale invasion of russia, the Ukrainian fashion designer was invited to Finland. “It is a great honor for me to become the designer of the year according to the version of Helsinki Fashion Week. Especially now, when every famous Ukrainian is an ambassador of freedom and independence in the world and whose mission is to draw attention to important topics,” says Jean Gritsfeldt.
At Helsinki Fashion Week, Jean Gritsfeldt will present a reminiscence collection dedicated to the 10th anniversary of his life’s work. On the Scandinavian catwalk, there will be showcased time-tested hits from all the designer’s collections over the 10 years of the Jean Gritsfeldt brand. “It is impossible to take a step forward without rethinking the past. It is a bridge to the future or, as I call it, the transformation of youth, – comments Jean Gritsfeldt. — Ten years ago and today, my work is permeated with the same ideas: thoughts and dreams about love, struggle and freedom — in art, desires, self-expression.
About finding yourself and faith in tomorrow.” The Helsinki Fashion Week show will also feature Jean Gritsfeldt’s work after February 24, 2022, a turning point in the history of his Motherland. The Ukrainian designer’s performance will end with a rally charting the paths of the future: the podium will be filled with people with posters “Free people must stand together”, “Ukraine is the shield of Europe”, “Stay proud, stay ready”, “My life — my rules”, “ United in love, united in fight”, “Bigger then fear”, “We are fighting for our land and for the values of the entire independent world”, “What’s next?”, “How many more Davids must be born to finally destroy Goliath?”.
Every performance by Jean Gritsfeldt fulfills a certain mission, and this time the designer presents a capsule collection of shopping bags with slogans in support of Ukraine, which has been under daily enemy attacks from russia for more than 5 months. The charity capsule was created in collaboration with the Shpyg Foundation — the Fedor Shpyg Foundation, which has been supporting the development of culture, science and sports in Ukraine for more than 20 years.
50% of the funds from the sale of patriotic shoppers of the Jean Gritsfeldt brand will be donated to the Foundation for the restoration and construction of children’s cultural and art institutions, which were destroyed throughout Ukraine during the russian terrorist attacks. In addition, the Shpyg Foundation will donate bags to its Foundation donors. You can read more about the Foundation’s activities on the website shpyg.foundation.

The brand’s philosophy is to create a one-of-a-kind wearable art to represent the relationship between art and fashion that once existed in the past, bringing them back to life in an artistic and meaningful way by merging vintage items with new future technology. Each item is a unique and timeless style that can be displayed in both the real and virtual worlds.
All Only One On Planets, in other words, OOOPS physical items have been created under upcycling, slow fashion, zero waste, circular economy, and sustainable concepts. All items have been carefully crafted and transformed for their new chapter telling new stories in the physical, digital, and virtual world.
We added more value to each piece for the future of digital and virtual worlds by creating OOOPS NFTs. We believe that fashion is one form of art and as we move into the digital age we can now give more meaning and personality to our fashion items digitally through their own individual nfts. We use each physical item from our project to create NFTs. As each clothing item was made with the intention of being rare and one of a kind, we can now express our individual uniqueness through a custom individual nft. And just as there will only exist one physical piece in our real world, there will also only exist one nft for the piece in the digital world.
Moreover, we plan to create some fun and playful experience by applying Augmented Reality to all physical items in near future.
Each item is unique and the only one piece on the planet.
Only One On Planets has been created for everyone who loves unique art and fashion. Who dares to stand out and wants to experience the NFTs, Augmented Reality, and virtual world concepts.
BOIE&BILL by Ellisha Boie, is a fashion brand based in Accra, Ghana.
Ellisha Boie is the winner of the European Union in Ghana Climate Week 2020 photo competition, Access bank award of sustainability, nominee for The Future Awards Africa 2018, Africa Youth Choice awards 2016, and winner of Brand of the year for the maiden edition of the Ghana Tertiary fashion awards, with numerous appearances in the national newspapers and numerous television interviews.
In 2019, the fashion brand started a unique approach to campaign for a greener planet, sustainable development and sustainable living through upcycling and sustainable fashion in Ghanaian communities, to prevent and put to use plastics discarded in the markets and second hand clothing imported into the country and dumped in landfills from engulfing our environment and seas.
A major problem in the country.
The brand’s upcycled clothing collection is made up from plastic waste picked up from the busy markets of Accra, Ghana as well as second hand clothes that the team handpicks from the often dumped clothes in the markets in Accra.
Other items are also upcycled to add up to the design, including broken mirror/glass pieces, fabric and plastic scraps etc.
By combining all these items the brand creates an innovative clothing line made up of rain coats and jackets which they donate during the rainy season, as well as tie/dyed second hand jackets, sweatshirts, jeans trousers and more.
All these are efforts to promote and campaign and draw attention to the idea of upcycling and sustainable fashion in Ghana and Africa as a whole, an approach which after its launch has received wild praise, patronage and recognition.

Sini-Pilvi Kiilunen is an Aalto University MA fashion student. She tells visual stories with garments that are multi-layered, rich in materials and juxtapositions. Her work has been internationally acknowledged and described as powerfully romantic, intense
in colours and made with exceptional craftsmanship. Kiilunen will be partaking in the Helsinki Fashion Week with garments utilising leftover and recycled materials.
Sini-Pilvi Kiilunen’s previous work has been characterised by elaborate materials, where as in this collection the focus of the garments is in the construction. The design is combining masculine and feminine elements and shapes.
The collection is also a study of upcycling. It is made utilising second hand shirts and leftover materials. By alternating men’s shirts, Kiilunen has discovered ways to utilise existing clothes to create something modern.
Sini-Pilvi’s looks will be presented at the Train Factory during the fashion week.
