About photographer:
Gianpietro Recchia (1996) was born in Putignano (BA) and grew up in Vicenza while maintaining a strong connection to his roots. He studied and worked in the mechanical field until the age of 27 (2023) when he moved to Milan after receiving a scholarship at Istituto Italiano di Fotografia.
Because he has had a passion for photography since his teenage years; after experimenting with various genres, he focused on portraiture, primarily using natural light. Upon moving to Milan, he began exploring fashion photography, paying close attention to the study of light and colour, while always keeping the relationship with the subject at the forefront.
About stylist:
Alessia Calabrese (2003) was born and grew in Bari (puglia) .She has always had a passion for fashion, which led her to pursue higher education in fashion design, focusing on Made in Italy.
During this time, she acquired knowledge in textile technology, pattern making, and illustration. Following this, she enrolled in a three-year Fashion Styling and Communication degree program at IED in Milan. At the end of her journey, she hopes to move to France to explore the Parisian fashion scene.
About the project:
To explain the project “Spotlight” it explores the intimate relationship between light, shadow, and fashion, creating an enveloping and theatrical atmosphere. In this editorial, every look takes centre stage, illuminated by a beam of light that highlights textures, details, and silhouettes. The warm and sophisticated colour palette, ranging from neutral tones to bold contrasts, enhances the drama of the images, evoking a sense of mystery and refinement.
Hence the outfits featuring modern lines and diverse materials, tell stories of elegance and experimentation. Bold cuts, delicate transparencies, and minimal accessories complete an aesthetic that blends classic and contemporary elements. The carefully studied poses and interplay of shadows emphasize the narrative power of light, symbolizing focus and discovery.
