Sonic Seduction and Raw Artistic Vision: Wax Wings and Miha’s ‘The Confession’ EP
London-based techno innovator Wax Wings and Slovenian performance artist Miha have unleashed a provocative new EP, The Confession, blending hard-hitting beats with an unapologetic exploration of queer hedonism and club culture. Released through Citizen Records, this debut collaboration delivers a visceral experience, pushing boundaries with its dark, sensual abandon.
The three-track EP fuses industrial basslines, ominous tempos, and jagged rhythms, creating a striking narrative that unflinchingly explores themes of pleasure, power, and the raw energy of nightlife. Each track offers a deep dive into the unrestrained world of club culture, showcasing the multidisciplinary talents of both artists.

A Provocative Exploration of Erotic Power and Desire
The EP opens with the lead single, What If I Told You To, a track that layers suspenseful, driving beats with commanding vocals by Miha and Australian DJ-producer Lucille Croft. The song takes listeners into a world of uninhibited sadomasochistic desire, building a soundscape that is as provocative as it is hypnotic.
The title track, an allegory on cruising, takes the listener on a stalk-like pursuit of fleeting anonymous encounters. Throbbing pulses combine with cold, hypnotic electronics, evoking the psyche of a beast that is perpetually unsatisfied. As the track builds, its crescendo of euphoric percussion leads to a primal climax, embodying the raw intensity of desire. Closing the EP is Moan, a slow-tempo finale that transitions into a sultry, almost breathless release of euphoric synths, warped exhales, and sensual vocal samples, leaving a lingering sense of dark allure.
Visual Storytelling: A Tribute to Unapologetic Queer Sexuality
The visual aspect of The Confession is as integral as the music itself. The music video for What If I Told You To, directed by William Kennedy, is a provocative and unapologetic portrayal of latex-clad bodies, grainy underground chases, and strobing lights—capturing the raw energy of the underground queer scene. The video’s aesthetic is both erotic and symbolic, mirroring the themes of the EP itself.
Wax Wings also makes his directorial debut with a short film for the titular track, weaving together erotic imagery, raw energy, and symbolic cutscenes to create a tribute to unapologetic queer sexuality. Featuring familiar faces from London’s nightlife scene, the short film highlights the fleeting yet powerful communities that form in underground spaces, where the dancefloor becomes a sanctuary for liberation and self-expression.

A Force in London’s Techno Evolution
With years of experience in Northern England’s electronic music scene, Wax Wings has become a central figure in London’s queer underground. Known for his electric performances at iconic parties like INFERNO and HE.SHE.THEY, Wax’s music spans several notable labels such as The Weird and The Wonderful, Kneaded Pains, and Skint Records.

His collaborations with artists like Louisahhh, Maya Jane Coles, and Cakes Da Killa have cemented his place as an innovator in the techno community, merging pounding drums, emotive melodies, and sensual vocals into a distinct sound. As the founder of the queer mutant disco ODYSSEY and a multidisciplinary artist, Wax Wings continues to break boundaries, shaping the evolution of techno in London and beyond.

Remixes and Reinterpretations: Vitalic and Munsinger Add Fresh Life
In addition to the original tracks, The Confession also includes remixes of What If I Told You To by Vitalic and Munsinger. Vitalic’s commanding electro style injects a new intensity, while Munsinger’s sleek EBM rework gives the track a darker, industrial edge, further expanding the sonic landscape of the EP.
With these remixes, The Confession becomes not just an exploration of sound and vision but a dynamic, ever-evolving work of art that continues to inspire reinterpretation.
