In the wake of last season’s stunning show held in a decaying– but impossibly bright– building, Berlin brand SF1OG is returning to Berlin Fashion Week. Fans of the brand look forward to a fresh collection created with sustainability and versatility at the forefront.
SS24 Backstage
The brand is known for its artfully juxtaposed designs. Contemporary garments are made from antique material; references from bygone eras are repurposed into novel, ethically-made apparel backed by a sustainable business model.

Founders Rosa Marga Dahl and Jacob Langemeyer created last season’s collection entirely from deadstock, new sustainably-made material, and antique fabric. Spattered vests of 19th century linen were styled with modern fishing lure embellishments. The contrast of these starkly different materials encourages a broader, more malleable definition of sustainability for the future. Whether the item is a discarded plastic fishing lure or an antique textile preserved for centuries, reinvention is possible.
SF1OG SS25
Usually, SF1OG sticks to limited color-ways, relying on layering, texture, tailoring, and concept to make their impact. Their upcoming collection will likely also take inspiration from the past– these proclivities have become integral to SF1OG. What’s less certain is how they might incorporate the future into their designs, not only the past and present. Looking to the past is inspiring, but usually is accompanied by expectations for the future. One of the main concerns for brands who prioritize sustainability is exactly that.
Promotional materials leading up to this February’s AW25 show make use of medieval aesthetics. Invitations featured antiquated fonts and imagery, suggesting that true to the brand, this collection will also take inspiration from the past. The show will be held in Halle am Berghain on February 1st.

Ultimately, SF1OG is dedicated to the possibility of reinvention– for materials, for society– and for the brand itself, should it so choose.
The future now is uncertain, but this season, SF1OG might bring us a show that gives us some hope.
