This February, Berlin-based brand MAXIMILIAN GEDRA prepares to present its latest runway show at Berlin Fashion Week. The label toys with gender and then leaves it all behind through its sculptural, distorting designs.
MAXIMILIAN GEDRA’s main principle in fashion is to build outward from the human form, defying boundaries of gender. Gedra constricts and expands his silhouettes regardless of the gender of the intended wearer, taking the power away from spectators who may wish to categorize the body within.

The label’s previous collection, GOLIATH, focused heavily on power and resilience as seen through the natural world. The collection before that, STALACTITE, drew inspiration from geological formations and divergence from the norm. These collections exemplify the brand’s dedication to creating fashion that transcends certain superficialities of human nature.

“Experience our new collection — ’GOLIATH‘, which tells the story of nature’s grandeur and resilience through fashion. Inspired by the fascinating world of insects and nature, each piece reflects the strength and beauty of the insect world. By merging robust designs with delicate details, this collection aims to inspire confidence and awe, creating a harmonious blend of power and grace.”

The brand also holds itself to sustainability standards, as is becoming expected of any brand that hopes to hold consumer attention. Vegan materials, customization, handcrafting, and responsible packaging come together to allow for quality control, waste reduction, and ethical production.

MAXIMILIAN GEDRA’s driving purpose is to create a world that welcomes everyone, especially those who feel less seen in this society. Through structure and concept, Gedra is able to create fashion that transcends gender and encourages unapologetic self-expression.

This season, MAXIMILIAN GEDRA is expected to bring androgyny, narrative, sculpture, and freedom to the runway. Berlin is anxiously awaiting this electrifying new label’s return.
