JNN D’RC – Elodie Carstensen AW25

“JNN D’RC”: Elodie Carstensen’s AW25 Campaign Reimagines Jeanne d’Arc in Sculptural Form

Launching digitally on 13 May, “JNN D’RC” is the AW25 campaign by designer Elodie Carstensen. It is a sculptural exploration of feminine identity, strength, and transformation. Drawing from the myth of Jeanne d’Arc, the collection reimagines the heroine as a modern figure, shaping raw materials into striking silhouettes. Furthermore, this reimagination of Jeanne d’Arc holds tension, softness, and power in equal measure.

AW25: Model reclines with a brass goblet in hand, wearing fringed dark garments inside a yellow sculptural setting
Shot by Frédéric Hermann inside the stripped architecture of Studio Stellar in Berlin, each look appears like a relic. The silhouettes explore contrast: soft but structured, sharp yet ethereal.
At times, the clothes feel like armour — corsets, metal hoops, sculpted shoulders — yet never hardened. Handmade textures hint at past lives, while contemporary forms pull them forward. JNN D’RC reads as a study in resistance and rebuilding. Each piece carries its own duality: fragile in material, unwavering in stance.
Sepia-toned portrait of model in a sleeveless column dress, framed by a triangular arch and standing still with hands clasped.
Choreographed by Marie Zechiel, posture becomes part of the design. A turn of the head, a lifted arm — every gesture feels deliberate. Here, stance is everything — part offering, part refusal. With Hermann’s sculptural lighting and tight framing, the image sits at the edge of body and symbol — balancing the woman and the myth.
In one image, the model grips a long spear, encircled by metal rings that orbit her body like a constellation. It is a vision of control, strength, and surreal elegance. In another, she holds a teapot with ceremonial grace. Together, they read like chapters in a personal myth — one that doesn’t ask for explanation.

JNN D’RC is a study in defiance and reconstruction. Hence, it doesn’t dress the historical Jeanne — it responds to what she has come to mean. Each garment becomes a vessel: protective, fragile, and deeply human.
