Felipe Pantone presents SUBTRACTIVE VARIABILITY VITREUM, a new series of table sculptures made of resin — his first works created with this material. The collection consists of three kinetic pieces that explore the interaction of color through movement, revealing shifting chromatic effects that change with the viewer’s position.
Within a solid resin prism, three translucent layers of subtractive color: cyan, magenta, and yellow, float in suspended harmony. Each layer interacts optically with the others, generating infinite chromatic possibilities that unfold as your viewpoint changes. The Name Vitrium recalls the idea of glass, a capsule and a vessel of perception where color and light are preserved, yet alive through their interaction. In this piece, the phenomenon of subtractive variability is no longer just observed on a surface; it becomes encased, spatial and sculptural, transforming as the viewer moves around it. A permanent object that contains perpetual change.
Pantone’s work deals with dynamism, transformation, digital revolution, and themes related to the present times. The argentinian-spanish Artist says “Color exists because of light. Light is one of the fundamental forces that make life possible. Light and color are the very essence of visual art. Thanks to television, computers, and modern lighting, our perception of light and color has changed completely.”
The series comprises three unique sculptures, each with its own design and scale. Each edition includes only 75 pieces, ensuring exclusivity. Furthermore, the artist engraves every sculpture with its title, edition number, and Felipe Pantone’s signature.
Each piece comes in a costum wooden box which also functions as a display pedestal. In addition, the artist engraves each sculpture to mark its title, edition number, and signature.
