TOMMY FOUR SEVEN
How would you introduce yourself?
Iâm an electronic music producer and DJ whoâs been involved in the scene for just over two decades. While I mostly explore techno, I grew up in the UK, where I was exposed to pirate radio station culture and early drum & bass. I weave these sounds through most of the music that I make and release on my label, 47âa curated archive of styles and sound design at the intersection of broken beats and techno. I frequently run label nights at intimate club spaces around the world that showcase this sound and the artists I think are really pushing the envelope.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
I get excited by rhythms that stray from straight four-to-the floor techno. I also gravitate towards deep, nuanced soundscapes that bring listeners into another world. All of the music I push on 47 is connected by this thread, and while Iâm inspired by recontextualized old school sounds, all of the music I include in my sets and releases is sonically forward-thinking.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
47039 was my first major release since my album in 2019, and itâs a pretty radical departure from what Iâve put out up until now, even though it continues to sit between rolling four-four and broken beats. I wanted to translate the immersive sounds Iâve been gravitating towards over the last couple of years while still nodding to the dance floor. To capture this mood, one of my tracks even samples sounds of an oar in water. The EP is designed to bring listeners into an ethereal psychospace that balances technoâs darkness with shades of light.

How would you introduce yourself?
Free spirit, open mind.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
The focus on sound design, the attention to sonic details and the pursuit of intricate tones link me to 47. The labelâs commitment to creating these deep and complex atmospheres matches what I love, forming a strong connection through our shared appreciation for deep, dark and textured sounds.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
Back around four years ago, I was traveling in India, and thatâs where the music for this release came to life. This release is a mirror of those times when I was just living the art, culture, and vibes there. Every sound tells a story of that journey.

LINN ELISABET
How would you introduce yourself?
I experience sound as an extended part of my body, and singing as a way to reimagine my embodied presence in the world. Growing up in choirs I learned to experience music âfrom withinâ, as part of a collective sounding whole. Thatâs why my recent work evolved around my reverberant vocals, chasing an immersive, almost symphonic feel.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
The rhythms, the sound design, and the transgressive aspects of my music are what connects it with the labelâs sound. Thereâs also an emotive aspect to the 47 fantasy that coexists naturally with mine. I like to think of this relationship as two stories that play out in adjacent universes.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
47034 was written during my Master of Arts, where I researched Music as Gender Affirming Practice. Not only do the pieces reflect my sense of identity at the time, but the process of writing them became instrumental in the actual explorations of self that I was engaging in alongside my studies.

MYSTICS
How would you introduce yourself?
I love to produce many genres of music while trying to maintain a stylistic throughline for each EP I release.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
The musical connection between my style and the label 47 is special, I think because it was one of the first labels I discovered when I first started making club music. The label has influenced me a lot in the past with its releases and characters. I produced my EP 47035 with this in mind, blending my own style with industrial textures.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
Tommy asked me if I had some new musicâI was thrilled. I then thought of producing something tailored for 47, with industrial, club, IDM, and experimental flavors, while still embracing the nuances of my style, which has a ton of emotions. I was inspired by the sound of an old family factory where I worked in the past. After the factory closed, I recorded and sampled the sounds of factory machinery. I revisited these sounds years later, reworking them and making them an integral part of the EP.

OAKE
How would you introduce yourself?
Iâm not really good at describing or introducing myself on the basis of my music. Itâs hard for me to choose words to describe what I want to achieve since I am mainly searching for moods and stories within my tools, instruments and the frequencies they are offering me. I mainly produce for my own sanityâto work through things that are hidden somewhere in my mindâand by creating, I (sub)consciously process them.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
Electronic, experimental music with slices of drama, noise, storytelling, and catharsis. It all lives somewhere in between techno, bass, and cinematic music.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
Tommy and I first met in LA in 2013, stayed in touch and became friends. We (back then OAKE was still a duo) contributed a few releases to the 47 catalogue: 47008, 47019, and 47029.
47019 dealt with events I was experiencing in my personal life at this time, and it became a very personal record. It was also my first official release as a solo artist. 47029 is a remaster and remix EP for âPaysage Dépaysé,â which was originally released on the digital-only Monad series under the umbrella of Lucyâs Stroboscopic Artefacts. Tommy played that track as his closing tune at Katharsis in Amsterdam in 2016, and it kind of went viral in our techno bubble. His love for the track led to this release, for which Tommy and I handpicked some of our favorite producers to remix it and come up with their own version.

QUELZA
How would you introduce yourself?
Parisian suburb-born producer and DJ with an unorthodox way of approaching techno.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
Iâm always looking for a surprising and shocking way of impacting listeners, which I do by aesthetically morphing sounds. If I could describe my music with one idea, it would be the exploration of depth. This, for me, aligns with 47âs core message. The label is forward-thinking, authentic, and sonically free.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
Tommy contacted me a few months before the release, initially to ask if I had some tracks to share as he listened to some of my recent tracks, which happened at a time when I was spending much of my time doing intensive studio sessions. He liked the music a lot, and we started chatting about our respective influences, music wanted to have me on board for the new era, I found the idea extremely exciting; I wanted to challenge myself by releasing music wider than the club music format, which was also what Tommy was looking for. I spent the next two weeks in the studio, and we both selected five tracks to put out as an EP. And from there on a friendship was born !

How would you introduce yourself?
I feel it is important to keep a new audience engaged and on their toes. I achieve this by building up the tension levels and making transitions adventurous and unpredictable. I create different emotional responses through my music, flowing between different environments and rhythmic styles.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
I fuse UK-inspired broken beats with driving four-to-the-floor techno that arrive in a place where chaos and harmony live together. My interest in sound design is embedded within the dystopian atmospheres, heavy percussion, and electrifying tones I utilize across my productions. I feel all 47 releases are characterized by high fidelity sound design, delicate details balanced with razor-sharp sonics and moody atmospheres. Each release is united by the bold and unique ideas displayed by the artist. Adventurous, non-conforming and always moving forward. This is what drew me towards the label since its birth.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
The four tracks span a range of musical influences and tempos, but are united by the production methods and overall tone. The release ventures into drum & bass and IDM realms whilse have a district techno aesthetic designed for the dance floor. I incorporated a collage of different sound sources to craft these tracks, including my modular rack, guitar, processed vocals, and field recordings, welding them together. The EP was recorded at my own Silverlock studio where I feel most comfortable exploring these different themes.
I tried to create a fine balance between the noisy and delicate elements to cover a wide frequency spectrum.

I make electronic music that I like to call techno. Most of you will disagree.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
I make quirky, synthetic techno from a non-existent universe (yes, this is kind of paradoxical). I liked all the 47 releases since the beginning of the label, and Tommy was one of the barely handful of label owners out there who was willing to risk releasing anything other than what is trendy at a given moment.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
My release is about a visions of a highly advanced future, but there is dirt and rust on every corner. Some fun facts about the tracks: âNervstingerâ was originally about a hover bike racing event and was not supposed to have the âscreechâ after the breakdown, but while I was producing the track, a garbage truck was picking up some stuff below my studio. Its hydraulics were messed up and kept making this annoying, metallic, brain-piercing noise, which I recorded from my balcony, then modified and incorporated into the track. âXlog.No.153â is a log about an evacuation protocol event. It was supposed to have a countdown announcement in the breakdown, but we scrapped that. I managed to sneak an audible â47â approx on the 02:45 mark instead (2+45=47).

How would you introduce yourself?
My name is Lilou, and I have been passionate about film and music since childhood. I didnât start becoming interested in electronic music until I was 17, but I started producing and mixing a year later. I really started mixing and producing to have a musical continuity during my studies because I knew that I could no longer practice an instrument in my student apartment. I now live from my music, and I will always be grateful that Iâm able to live from my passion.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
My style never changed and my tastes too. My music remains the same with the same little cocktail since I started: drone, noise, texture, atmosphere, and sound design related to cinematic music. Tommyâs label has the same vibe. All of the releases are very textured and very futuristic. The first EPs that he put out are in my favorites youtube! 47 has always been a reference for me, so I was very honored and happy when Tommy asked me to send him demos.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
Tommy asked me for demos seven or eight months ago. I sent him 12 tracks, a mix of ambient mix and techno. I listened to all the releases on his label to try to understand what he wanted while introducing my style. I tried to deepen the dark side of my moods by using trippy textures.

TORN
How would you introduce yourself?
My name is Ivan, better known as Torn. IÊŒve been creating music for over a decade and have also been sharing my knowledge as a music teacher for half of that time. I actively mentor talented students, some of whom Iâm sure youâll soon hear about. I manage my own channel on Patreon, where I share exclusive content on music production and reveal some of my sound design secrets.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
Iâve always resisted pigeonholing myself into a specific genre because it can limit creativity. To me, music is all about the freedom to express your true self authentically. My style could probably be called experimental (if you really need a label). The list of my releases includes a diverse range of genres: both drum & bass and techno, and even cinematic tracks featuring guitar and deep atmospheres.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
When it comes to my EP â47028â for the 47 label, I didnât aim to fit into any molds. Instead, I sought to align my sound with Tommyâs unique vision for the label. Itâs about finding that sweet spot where my creativity intersects with the labelâs spirit. My release on 47 marked the labelâs rebirth a couple of years. Tommy, who shared my passion for drum and bass, approached me with an unconventional ideaâa track at 150 BPM, a tempo I hadnât explored before. Eager to experiment and push musical boundaries, I readily accepted this offer. This led to âTantrumâ, as well as our plans to cooperate further. Itâs been a rewarding experience working with Tommy and the 47 label, and I look forward to what awaits.

VSK
How would you introduce yourself?
Iâm Francesco, an Italian DJ and producer based in Berlin for eight years. This year, Iâm celebrating 20 years of DJing! Techno has always been a driving force in my life, but music is very important to me, not just as an art form but for its power to connect people… I consider clubs and festivals not just venues with loud sound systems, but spaces where diverse stories and realities converge, and important shared experiences are created.
Describe your musical style and its connection to the label 47.
My personal idea of techno is a sonic journey. I would describe it as a dance of frequencies that captivates, immerses, and hypnotizes. Sound design is at my musicâs core, and thatâs definitely the main connection with the label. Tommy has curated a space where all of the artists are free to experiment with textures, tones, and unconventional rhythms, covering different shades of techno and electronic music. Heâs also committed to modernity and is always on the lookout for the next sonic frontier, and 47 is a platform dedicated to staying ahead of the curve and pushing the boundaries of sound design.
Tell us about your 47 release and the story behind it.
Iâve been releasing on 47 for more than six years, so we have a very strong connection. With the last EP, we had a really natural and mutual understanding of releasing music that was slightly different to my previous releases. I wanted to focus more on hypnosis and groove and dial back the aggression of my usual sound. The narrative behind all four tracks is the evolution of a few morphine textures and synths. I found a fantastic way to shape and manipulate each element by experimenting with different layers of effects chains, which is how I add depth and dynamics to my music. I would say that the last EP was the most instinctive and spontaneous one of my careerâI felt really locked in during the creative process, and the results were very authentic.
