Resonating in Absence: A New Chapter in Bass Music

After two years, Reva Chol will release his debut album Torsion Port Anvil on September 20, 2025, via Resonate in Absence. The album blends bass-driven sound with sonic experiments and a strong visual identity.

To fully realize his vision, Reva Chol founded the dedicated bass label Resonate in Absence without compromise. This allowed him the freedom to fully represent the diverse range of styles embedded in the album’s eleven tracks.

The Concept of ‘Resonating in Absence’

The term “resonate in absence” came to Reva Chol during a deep ambient listening session, hidden beneath the three-meter-thick concrete ceiling of a club. Specifically, it describes the intangible moments when sound waves connect with the body and the self—through dance, stillness, and everything in between. Moreover, each of the album’s eleven tracks represents a different form of this state, crafted into audio narratives that reach the listener both physically and emotionally.

Visual Brutalism Meets Neo-Psychedelia

The visual component of the album was developed in parallel with the music. Working with an AI-assisted workflow, Reva Chol created a series of assets that were later refined by graphic designer and label member Leslie Stoltenberg. The result is a cover that combines brutalist architecture and neo-psychedelic textures, capturing the tension and duality that runs throughout the album.
