DISCHI presents Intermezzo Tre, the third chapter in its Intermezzo series

DISCHI presents Intermezzo Tre, the third chapter in its Intermezzo series, a poetic reflection of the label’s evershifting identity and musical journey.

Carefully curated by label boss Jen Cardini, this compilation draws together a constellation of artists—both familiar and new—spanning from Paris to Berlin, New York, and beyond, weaving their distinct voices into a coherent narrative.

Intermezzo Tre blends the pulsating force of EBM, techno and trance with the softer, dreamlike threads of ambient and downtempo. It unfolds like a sonic tapestry, intricate yet fluid, offering a journey through sound that is both grounded in the dancefloor and free to explore uncharted territories. In Intermezzo Tre, the label’s essence is both honored and reimagined, creating a vivid portrait of where DISCHI stands, and where it dares to go next.

Zaatar is a unique blend of her Moroccan and Belgian roots, woven together through her music. Drawing inspiration from the post-punk and EBM scenes of the late ’80s and early ’90s, her tracks are anchored by gritty, rough basslines that create the perfect backdrop for intense, feverish dance moments. Rich melodies and sounds from her Moroccan heritage add a distinct flavor to her music, giving it a sound that’s uniquely hers.

In her DJ sets, Zaatar takes her audience on a captivating journey, seamlessly moving from light to darkness and balancing joy with melancholy, often enhanced by the presence of oriental melodies.

As a co-founder and resident DJ of the Laisse Tomber Les Filles collective, Zaatar is committed to celebrating women behind the decks, championing freedom and diversity—values that resonate deeply with her, especially when performing.

She is also a member of the Ritmo Fatale label, where her track “Abiad Al Layali” has already become a key EBM reference.
