The Sphere, a state-of-the-art music and entertainment arena located in Paradise, Nevada, just east of the iconic Las Vegas Strip, offers an unparalleled experience for music lovers and tech enthusiasts alike. Designed by the renowned architectural firm Populous, this groundbreaking venue was announced in 2018 by the Madison Square Garden Company, initially branded as the MSG Sphere.
Our recent visit to the Sphere for an unforgettable audio-visual journey was unlike anything we’ve experienced before. The venue’s cutting-edge technology and immersive atmosphere set the stage for an evening of stunning performances, featuring acclaimed artists like Solomun and Anyma.
Solomun opened for Anyma at the record-breaking venue, presenting an especially curated show displaying his vision of the “divine” experience of music.
For this special event, Solomun drew on his extensive background in the cinema industry, an influence that was evident in every aspect of the show. From the sound and visuals to the choreography—featuring the renowned Blanca Li, known for her work with Daft Punk—Solomun directed and created the entire experience himself.
We experienced visuals that showcased animations of dystopian cities and relentless dancers, interwoven with vibrant, brighter elements and Pantone colors, which played a significant role in the journey. While the bold primary colors led the storytelling, the experience shifted towards the end, as the boundary between worlds blurred, all set against the evolving soundscape of the Solomun DJ set.
Over the course of an hour, attendees got a glimpse into the creative mind of Solomun, inspired by his early foundations as a filmmaker.
Each moment is deliberate, and each transition feels less like a mix and more like a new chapter. As one of the final featuring artists of his longtime friend Anyma’s historic Sphere Las Vegas residency, Solomun stepped out of his regular role as DJ and into the role of a creative director for a unique one-off performance, telling his own story with its own succinct aesthetic.
What made this event even more unique was the collaboration with Berlin-based fashion designer Marlon Ferry. Anyma’s performance was accompanied by futuristic, stylish outfits from Ferry’s latest collection, which had premiered earlier at Berlin Fashion Week at our event for the first time. The fusion of music, fashion, and technology created an electrifying ambiance, with Ferry’s designs adding a dynamic visual layer to the entire experience.
Some artists play sets, others create worlds. Last night at Sphere Las Vegas, we experienced both.
The night unfolded with four incredible visual acts, each pushing the boundaries of what a traditional club night could offer. The transformation that the audience was not just visual—it was deeply sensory, tapping into various levels of perception. From the vibrant, multi-dimensional projections to the powerful, pulse-driven beats, the Sphere’s advanced audio-visual systems enveloped everyone in a completely new world.

Stepping beyond the decks, he designed every element of the show from start to finish, from music to visuals and beyond.
Unlike typical club settings, where the focus is often solely on the music, the Sphere takes things to another level. The fusion of art, technology, and sound provided an immersive experience that felt distinctly different from the usual nightlife, offering a multi-layered experience that resonated on a deeper level with the audience.

“This aspect of my biography—my passion for storytelling through moving images—might come as a surprise to some. Since at my events, I’ve always kept the focus strictly on music rather than visuals. That’s why I always say: I throw parties, not shows. But here, on this massive screen, it had to be a show—one that tells the story of the divine power of music and the universal language of dance.”
Solomun
The result wasn’t just Solomun in a new setting, but him shaping the experience in a way that felt right for this space—crafting a creative storytelling concept that took the audience on a journey, guiding them to the essence of what he wanted to convey.
This event at the Sphere was an audio-visual trip that left everyone feeling as if they had been part of something truly groundbreaking. As technology and music continue to evolve, the Sphere is set to redefine how we experience entertainment, making it an exciting destination for future events in the heart of Las Vegas.

“Ultimately, this is the essence of all my thoughts: As long as the music plays, you don’t have to be afraid.”
Solomun
