New Zealand-based label HAVEN is back with vinyl, presenting Grotecca EP, a collaboration between Irish producers Faetch and Sunil Sharpe.
HAVEN unveils Grotecca EP, scheduled for release on February 6, 2026, on vinyl and digital, the EP features four original tracks and a remix by Italian legend DJ Plant Texture. The release highlights HAVEN’s continued focus on dense, textured techno sounds from around the world.
The A-side opens with “Bleed In”, featuring strong drum patterns and hypnotic atmospheres that gradually build, leading to a midpoint where an aggressive synth line emerges. Following this is “Test Breaks”, a broken-beat track with gritty synth textures and low-end rhythms that maintain momentum throughout. The first side closes with DJ Plant Texture’s remix of “Bleed In,” which reworks the original synth line over driving 909 drums for a club-ready version.
The B-side starts with “Vapornation”, driven by rolling congas that give the track a groovy, flowing energy. At the same time, eerie atmospheric elements, described in the press release as “tailor-made for a concrete basement,” create a contrasting tension. This combination of rhythmic drive and unsettling textures makes the track particularly engaging and dynamic. The EP concludes with “Shinplant”, featuring upfront drums and raw synth rhythms that carry the energy to the end, closing the release with strong momentum and dance-floor focus.
Grotecca EP marks HAVEN’s renewed attention to vinyl releases. The collaboration between Faetch and Sunil Sharpe, alongside DJ Plant Texture’s remix, delivers tracks built for club play while retaining the label’s characteristic textured sound. Across four originals and one remix, the EP emphasizes rhythm, atmosphere, and movement, showcasing the label’s approach to techno in both vinyl and digital formats.
