Berlin-based artist Bungalovv returns with Homecoming, a deeply personal and texturally rich album arriving April 17, 2026 via Yegorka. Crafted over nearly three years, the record assembles fragments of past and present into a fragile, immersive whole, built from phone recordings, recovered hard-drive sketches, voice notes, and relearned guitar parts, all carefully recomposed alongside new material.
At the center of the album stands “The Way We Failed,” a haunting collaboration with Dis Fig, the New York-based artist Felicia Chen, who cut her teeth operating in New York City’s scrappy DIY and experimental club scenes. The track distills Homecoming’s emotional core: memory as residue, sound as aftermath. Dis Fig’s voice moves through blurred textures and fractured rhythms, lending a visceral weight to Bungalovv’s layered production. There’s a sense of collapse and release embedded in the track, like a farewell suspended in time, where melodic fragments drift against percussive instability. It’s both intimate and disorienting, capturing the album’s balance between decay and reconstruction.

Throughout the record, Bungalovv works at the intersection of alternative and experimental club and harsh melodic ambient music, integrating percussive polyrhythms, melodic synthesizers, detailed foley loops, field recordings, acoustic instruments, and Latin American influences. Collaborations with artists such as Lauren Maria, Cru Encarnaçao, and Iris Forest appear throughout, adding subtle variations in tone and perspective without overshadowing the album’s cohesive vision.
Homecoming ultimately feels like a collection of found memories, an imagined ending assembled from real traces of the past. In “The Way We Failed,” that concept reaches its most poignant form: a quiet, unresolved goodbye that lingers long after the sound fades.
