Berlin designer Lou de Bètoly brought decadence and nostalgia to her AW25/26 runway on Saturday of Berlin Fashion Week.
Beautifully draped dresses of houndstooth and plaid graced the runway, welcoming the crowd with a hint of sentimentality. These classic patterns were juxtaposed against VR headsets and futuristic eyewear, suggesting the brand’s inclinations towards both innovation and tradition.

Material was styled together to add dimension to simpler looks, while flouncy textures added lightness to the looks with weightier fabrics.

Lou de Bètoly is known for its craftsmanship in creating up-cycled garments of exclusively vintage and deadstock textiles. Sustainability is at the core of the brand, but that doesn’t result in a lack of decadence. Instead, the brand is able to present stunning garments that demonstrate the potential of recycled fashion.
This collection was an impressive presentation of the designer’s ability to work with fabric in structural ways that feel new both for the brand and fashion in general.

Fuzzy knit sets and skimpy, shimmering crochet numbers flowed down the runway. Each look built off the previous, steadily building anticipation with every piece.

Regal collars were paired with matching undergarments, suggesting the brand’s interest in merging both elegance and sex.
Intricately constructed dresses clung to the models, making a strong case for extravagance. This collection was an extraordinary display of what Lou de Bètoly is capable of, and will absolutely leave Berlin hungry for next season.
