Fragmentor Unveils Tokyo Techno City EP on Planet Rhythm

A no-frills five-tracker that drills deep into techno’s industrial soul, one precise blow at a time.

Fragmentor’s Tokyo Techno City EP, released May 16, 2025 via Planet Rhythm, is a straight-to-the-core, rhythmically focused collection that doesn’t rely on concept or narrative—just pure, high-functioning techno. Across five tracks, the EP delivers driving grooves, tonal density, and a commitment to tension and release that will resonate with late-night DJs and heads alike.

The title track, “Tokyo Techno City,” opens with mechanical percussion and grinding synth cycles, accompanied by a smooth acid bassline that adds flowing texture. This acid element gently enhances the track’s hypnotic momentum, providing a classic rave-inspired character without overwhelming the precise, modern production.

“Techno Thriller” brings a darker atmosphere with sharp synth stabs and high-frequency tension that creates a subtle paranoia without theatrics. “Limbo” strips back to minimalist, static-infused textures and filtered rhythmic loops, offering a spacious, dub-inspired feel. “Posterity” adds brightness through clear high-end elements and a propulsive groove, driving urgency while maintaining restraint.

The closing track, “Ancestral Healing (Rave Mix),” layers spacious reverbs and complex rhythms, incorporating punchy acid stabs that energize the track with rave-inspired vitality, balancing dense production with lively textures and rhythm.

Tokyo Techno City is techno stripped down to essentials — functional, precise, and designed for late-night warehouse sets where every element counts. Fragmentor refines rather than overstates, making minimalism feel powerful.
