Honoring Memory Through Sound: Linn Elisabet Unveils “Berit” on New VA of Das Werk – Kompendium1ᴰᵂ

A New Chapter for Das Werk

Celebrating its first anniversary, Berlin-based label Das Werk launches a new VA series titled [Kompendium1ᴰᵂ], a carefully curated collection that encapsulates the label’s signature sound—deep, rhythmic, and introspective. The 16-track compilation unfolds weekly, culminating in its full release on June 13.

More than just a compilation, [Kompendium1ᴰᵂ] is described as “music for the silent mind”—a sonic archive shaped by atmosphere, texture, and emotional resonance, offering a cohesive narrative crafted by a diverse group of artists.

Track Premiere: Linn Elisabet – Berit (Fjun) [ Das Werk ]

Among the standout contributions is Linn Elisabet’s track Berit, which we are proud to premiere today. Rooted in personal history, Berit is a vocal-driven piece that first began as a sketch in 2019. When invited to complete the track for this release, they were mourning the recent passing of their grandmother—an event that deeply shaped the final composition.

“My grandmother Berit was a brave woman, who despite a lifetime of challenges, carried the work of generational growth for us to continue,” they say. “I will always remember the child within her, what her life taught me about forgiveness, and the moments of joy her heart brought me.”

Berit stands out as a heartfelt tribute, weaving emotional intimacy into subtle sonic detail. Its slow-burning development and textured vocal elements perfectly align with the ethos of [Kompendium1ᴰᵂ]—introspective, sincere, and timeless.

As Das Werk continues to reveal tracks from [Kompendium1ᴰᵂ] week by week, the release shapes up to be more than a compilation—it’s a reflection of a community and its shared emotional and sonic language.

Stay tuned for more premieres leading up to the full release on June 13.
