ANIQO Answers the Call: A New Chapter Begins with Mystic Folk-Pop Single
Berlin-based singer, composer, and poet ANIQO opens a powerful new chapter with her single The Call, released August 8 via La Double Vie. The track blends poetic folk-pop with cinematic textures, creating an ethereal sound. It acts as a sonic bridge from inner shadow toward luminous transformation.

Written during a time of personal upheaval, The Call is, in ANIQO’s words, “a kind of bridge into the light… a symbolic reflection of my time spent confronting both inner and outer shadows.”

ANIQO on The Call
The Call is, for me personally, a kind of bridge into the light – a symbolic
reflection of my time spent confronting both inner and outer shadows.”

The song was co-produced with Dirk Feistel at StudioX Berlin. It features driving percussion, atmospheric synths, and mystical layers of strings and guitar.

ANIQO’s voice remains central: unwavering, vulnerable, and resolute all at once.

Backed by harmonies from La Double Vie founder Gloria de Oliveira, the track presents a stand-alone moment of release and forward movement. A remix by trip-hop icon Howie B is expected in the weeks following.

While The Call doesn’t appear on her forthcoming album Earth, Love and Variations, it sets the tone for what’s to come: a deeper, clearer, and more spiritual soundscape. Representing the usual style of ANIQO, the song moves between art-pop and spiritual folk.

With inspiration drawn from icons like Mitski, Bowie, and Faithfull, ANIQO weaves fragility with fierce intent. The Call represents as a poetic invitation to step into the unknown, guided by feeling, not fear.
