Kappa FuturFestival 2026: Three Days of Electronic Music Without Boundaries

Kappa FuturFestival 2026 returned to Turin from July 3–5, transforming the iconic industrial landscape of Parco Dora into one of the world’s most celebrated destinations for electronic music.

From STOOR’s three improvised live sessions to landmark performances by Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Boys Noize, Max Cooper, Carl Craig with Mike Banks and Solomun and more KEYI Magazine witnessed an exceptionally influential and eclectic weekend at Turin’s Parco Dora.

For three days, Kappa FuturFestival transformed Turin’s monumental Parco Dora into a temporary city devoted to electronic music. Beneath the exposed concrete, steel towers and remains of the former industrial complex, more than 125,000 visitors from 152 countries gathered for a program that connected techno’s foundations with its constantly evolving future.

From the KEYI Magazine perspective, what distinguished this edition was not simply the scale of the festival, but the depth of its musical language and it’s variety. We had a pleasure to catch up & photograph artists, visitors and capture a lot of moments and it’s beauty of this event.
This year, the festival welcomed thousands of fans from all around the globe. As a result, it reinforced its reputation as one of Europe’s premier techno and house events, combining cutting-edge production, world-class artists, and an unmistakable urban atmosphere.
Across the three days, STOOR demonstrated why improvisation remains so important to electronic music. The performances felt physical, unpredictable and intensely collaborative. Rhythms appeared, dissolved and returned in altered forms. Individual personalities remained recognizable, but nobody dominated the exchange. The artists listened to each other—and the audience listened with them.
Created by Dutch techno pioneer Speedy J, STOOR approaches electronic performance as a fully improvised conversation between artists and machines. There is no conventional DJ sequence and no predetermined route. Hardware, modular systems, drum machines and synthesizers are connected in a shared setup, allowing the musicians to respond to one another in real time.
The audience understood that. People listened closely, responded to subtle changes and followed the longer narratives being constructed onstage. The musical synergy within the musicians as well like among the crowd could be felt throughout the weekend.

The three Kappa sessions each day brought together Dasha Rush, Rødhåd and Speedy J; Colin Benders, Lady Starlight and Speedy J; and finally Chris Liebing, Sterac and Speedy J. Each combination created its own identity.

Main stage Futur just before Sven Väth’s closing set became playground for Berlin/LA-based producer and DJ Boys Noize. Alex Ridha, has spent more than two decades moving between electro, techno, acid and distorted forms of club music to big stages around the globe. As the founder of Boysnoize Records, he has maintained an unmistakable sound while collaborating with artists across electronic music, hip-hop and pop. His performance at Futur stage brought this special energy.

Before his closing performance, KEYI Magazine met DJ Rush for a special interview at Parco Dora. The conversation captured the personality behind one of techno’s most distinctive and enduring figures shortly before he stepped onstage.

Born in Chicago and later based in Berlin, DJ Rush has been a commanding presence in electronic music since the 1990s. His sound draws on the raw foundations of Chicago house and techno while pushing toward a faster, harder and intensely physical style. Beyond his technical ability, Rush is known for his charisma, expressive stage presence and unmistakable connection with the crowd.
Speaking with him before the set revealed the focus and experience behind that energy. The interview became a moment of anticipation: a brief pause before the artist moved from conversation into performance and took control of the closing hours.

Richie Hawtin once again proved why he remains one of the defining figures in contemporary electronic music at Kappa FuturFestival 2026. A true pioneer of minimal techno, Hawtin transformed the stage into a masterclass of precision, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology with hypnotic grooves through his signature DEX EFX X0X hybrid performance.

His ability to push the boundaries of live DJing while maintaining an intense connection with the audience reaffirmed why his appearances in Turin have become one of the festival’s most anticipated traditions.

At Parco Dora, that versatility translated into a performance that was direct, energetic and playful. His selection connected electro’s sharp rhythmic architecture with the physical force of contemporary techno. It was a reminder of his ability to move between different musical worlds without losing his identity.

Another outstanding moment of the weekend came from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, two artists whose histories are inseparable from Berlin’s modern techno identity and the international influence of Berghain, where they are both residents.

Both DJs have developed distinct musical languages. Klock is known for hypnotic momentum, detailed transitions and sets that gradually build unique stories. Dettmann brings a rawer, highly personal approach, moving between industrial techno, electro, post-punk influences and unexpected rhythmic turns.

Their back-to-back performance at Kappa FUTUR combined these perspectives with remarkable control. Rather than simply alternating tracks, Klock and Dettmann appeared to challenge and respond to one another. The set was powerful without becoming predictable – precise, adventurous and deeply connected to the history of Berlin techno.

It was one of the festival’s most focused performances. The crowd followed every transition, responding not only to the obvious peaks but also to the more subtle shifts in texture and rhythm.

Alongside the performance, KEYI Magazine met Marcel Dettmann for a special interview and photographic journey through Turin. Moving beyond the festival grounds and into the city, the conversation offered a more personal perspective on the artist, his creative practice and the experiences that continue to shape his work.

Kappa FuturFestival 2026 showed that a major international festival does not have to choose between scale and substance. Across six stages, the program brought together canonical figures, contemporary headliners, experimental live projects and artists representing new directions in club culture.

Sven Väth brought a memorable closing set on the Futur Stage in Turin. The techno pioneer demonstrated his unparalleled ability to read the crowd, effortlessly guiding the dancefloor through hypnotic rhythms and timeless grooves. Papa Sven’s infectious passion and boundless energy resonated throughout the audience, creating a powerful connection that transformed the festival’s final hours into an unforgettable celebration of electronic music.

Solomun delivered one of the standout performances at Kappa FuturFestival 2026 in Turin, captivating the audience with two unforgettable appearances. On the Futur Stage, he presented a meticulously curated three-hour solo set that unfolded through deep grooves, hypnotic rhythms, and emotionally charged melodies, showcasing his renowned ability to build tension and tell a compelling musical story.
