Short Finger Explores Movement and Systems on New EP K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

Seoul based artist Short Finger will release his new EP K-ETA (한국전자여행허가제) [EE004]  on June 5, 2026 via EYEAR Records. Marking the label’s first guest producer project, the release draws inspiration from experiences at the airport and reflects on social systems, established patterns, and the moments that break away from them.

Taking its name from Korea’s Electronic Travel Authorization system, the EP explores themes of repetition, circulation, and departure. Short Finger translates his interest in structure and freedom through evolving lead synths that gradually drift away from and return to a 4 on the floor framework. The result is a constantly shifting soundscape designed to encourage a meditative listening experience while offering a brief escape from familiar norms and expectations.

The premiere focuses on “ELECTRONIC”, one of the six tracks featured on the EP. Positioned within the project’s broader exploration of movement and transformation, the track offers a glimpse into the fluid and evolving sonic language that runs throughout K-ETA.

The release also includes “KOREA,” “TRAVEL,” and “AUTHORIZATION,” alongside two remixes of “KOREA” by XXOK and oxymosoon, each presenting a different interpretation of the original material.

Beyond his work as a producer, Short Finger has built a multidisciplinary practice spanning graphic design, sound art, club culture, and event organization. Having spent years as a resident DJ, night manager, and rave organizer, he now works with the media art collective EXTNETION, collaborating with galleries and institutions across Seoul, Osaka, and Berlin. His work frequently explores balance and coexistence, drawing connections between past and present, as well as Eastern and Western sonic traditions.

With K-ETA, Short Finger presents a thoughtful techno project that reflects on systems, movement, and the possibility of stepping outside established patterns. The EP will be released on June 5, 2026, via EYEAR Records.
