Returning for the seventh edition of the beloved WE ARE NOT ALONE compilation series, Ellen Allien and BPitch Berlin curate an unmissable collection of twelve new tracks celebrating the global underground that has influenced the label since its inception. Due out in May, it is to be followed by two further installments landing later this year.

With the announcement of this ambitious new compilation, BPitch continues to expand on their limitless roster, reflecting the artists who have been involved in the WE ARE NOT ALONE event series from across the world. These events put a kaleidoscopic lens to electronic music from all over, championing a vision of culture that is far-reaching and inclusive in both spirit and sound. With contributions from rising talents and established heroes alike, WE ARE NOT ALONE Vol. 7 is a testament to the pluralism of one of electronic music’s most beloved record labels, and the family of artists that make it what it is.

Hello ! good morning. I just woke up – and have been listening to the track ‘Kyiv’ that I did for the We Are Not Alone compilation … The mastering arrived back and it sounds better now …
The seventh edition of ‘WE ARE NOT ALONE’ comprises 12 tracks. What prompted the release of this compilation? And how were the artists selected for it?
This is the third We Are Not Alone compilation and we are gonna release it on BPitch in 3 parts this year … All the DJs and artists who are on it are chosen simply because I love their music a lot and I am playing their music . The idea is to show our community and bring all of us together – a bit like a big We Are Not Alone event at RSO that we do in Berlin. Where we have 3 floors open over a long time, all spinning our favourite music in parallel.
We’re here to premiere the opening track ‘Kyiv,’ which still evokes memories of the war. What changes have occurred for you personally since that time? How has that influenced your production process?
I am missing Kyiv a lot. The people and nightlife, the beautiful city. I just miss it so much. So I made this track that is full of hope, with this city and country in mind, hoping that it will be in peace .. It all feels like the world turns in reverse and every day I am thinking about how I can move on. We are all a part of the protest and revolution in our community and worldwide.
How do you perceive the changes in the music industry, influenced by global issues? With your positive outlook and constant support, how do you believe we can continue to unite as a community?
It feels like all this fear in the world makes people like pop dance music .. or trippy music and hard style .. there is a need to escape, but also to be present and feel. At the moment DJs are playing many different styles, and there is an openness to this. I think now our meeting points like clubs are important to the community, for many people they are a place to not feel alone in this crazy world, which the idiots are managing and not listening to the people.
What are the future plans for WE ARE NOT ALONE?
We Are Not Alone will land in Detroit at the end of May for the after-hour of Movement festival. We will do it in a big warehouse over 2 floors, the other floor Richie Hawtin takes over. I’m looking forward so much to going in the music city and playing the festival with We Are Not Alone.
