Berlin Fashion Week is no stranger to unconventional presentations, but #DAMUR took experimentation to another level with RIDE CHAOS – BREAK THE GRAVITY.
Rather than staging a traditional runway, designer Damur Huang transformed Skatehalle Berlin into a living performance where fashion, skateboarding, music, and nightlife became part of the same experience.
Hosted during the ten-hour TECHNO SLUTs takeover, the presentation dissolved the boundary between audience and runway, inviting guests to experience the collection from within rather than simply observe it.
A runway in constant motion
Instead of presenting garments in isolation, the show unfolded in three acts. Contemporary dancers opened the performance before models introduced the collection through movement, while skateboarders brought the final chapter to life.
By the end of the presentation, dancers, skaters, and models shared the same space, transforming the runway into a collective celebration that continued into the night’s rave.
This immersive format reflected the collection’s central message: fashion is not meant to remain still. It exists through movement, interaction, and the communities that surround it.
Ballet meets skate culture
At the heart of RIDE CHAOS – BREAK THE GRAVITY is an unexpected dialogue between ballet and skateboarding.
Although these worlds appear completely different, both demand discipline, resilience, balance, and the willingness to fall before getting back up.
#DAMUR translated this contrast into clothing that felt both structured and fluid, balancing technical construction with freedom of movement.
The collection combined oversized tailoring with sculptural outerwear, technical shorts, second-skin layers, and cropped silhouettes. Neon orange piping traced the body like movement lines, while chrome finishes, bold cut-outs, and layered constructions reinforced the collection’s futuristic aesthetic.
Checkerboard patterns, vibrant pinks and oranges, metallic silver, and graphic purple accents created looks that embraced visual intensity without feeling chaotic.
Rather than adapting the body to the garment, the garments were designed to respond to movement, making physical expression an essential part of each look.
Fashion as culture
Beyond the clothing, #DAMUR questioned the conventions of the fashion industry itself. By replacing the polished runway with a skatepark filled with DJs, dancers, skaters, and club culture, the presentation challenged the idea that fashion should exist in carefully controlled environments.
Instead, it argued that creativity thrives where people gather, move, and express themselves freely.
The TECHNO SLUTs programme reinforced this vision, bringing together live performances, electronic music, food, and community throughout the day. Rather than serving as background entertainment, every element became part of the narrative, turning the event into an immersive cultural experience rather than a conventional fashion show.
More than a runway
Ultimately, RIDE CHAOS – BREAK THE GRAVITY was less about presenting a seasonal collection than rethinking how fashion can be experienced. Through movement, music, and community, #DAMUR demonstrated that a runway no longer needs to be confined to a catwalk.
Instead, it can become a space where fashion, performance, and nightlife intersect, reflecting the energy and unpredictability of contemporary culture.
